moving {again}...

I'm the type of person that thoroughly enjoys moving. I suppose that's a good thing for my husband because while he's in the military we could move quite a bit. I know that the moving process can be stressful and at times down right awful, but the fact that you get to experience a new city, new people, and new things is what excites me. I also love getting to redecorate, so moving definitely gives me the opportunity to be creative and dazzle up a new home. In the past 10 months, this will be my 3rd move. Some may think that's just plain ridiculous, but to me, I've enjoyed every second of it.

  • Move # 1. In May 2011, I got married to my best friend. He's in the military and received a temporary assignment to work in Annapolis, Maryland from June-August. At the time we were living in Owings Mills, Maryland which is about a 45 minutes drive {on a good day} from Annapolis. Because we knew that traffic can get heavily backed up on the highway going from Owings Mills to Annapolis, we decided to pack up and move down to Annapolis for the summer months.
  • Move # 2. In August 2011, it was time to pack up our stuff again and move down to Pensacola, Florida where my husband would begin his training. The moving process was honestly quite easy because we didn't  have to rent a moving truck since the Navy offers a moving service at no cost. The movers came to the house and packed up our belongings into a huge semi, and then began shipping our stuff to our new house for us. This move was fantastic because 1. our stuff was shipped to our house and ready for us the day we moved in {which I hear is VERY rare} and 2. we were able to sight see down the east coast in Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia before arriving to Florida. Our stay in Pensacola has been pretty good. We live just 5 minutes from the water which is wonderful. Also, the base where my husband has been training is just a short 2 minute drive. Can't beat that! When we first moved down here we thought we'd only be living here for 10 weeks since that's how long the first training process is. Turns out we were wrong. There's been quite the back up so 7 months later, the training here in Pensacola is complete and we can move on to the next destination.
  • Move # 3. This upcoming Saturday we'll be moving an hour away from Pensacola to Milton, Florida. I'm super excited to move because I want to paint {something I have NEVER done before} and redecorate of course. I've gathered great ideas for our new place through Pinterest, so I can't wait to get started on my house projects. Honestly though, I am a little sad about moving this time. I've grown really attached to the church we attend and living just 5 minutes from the water is awesome. I'm going to miss those two things a lot. But that's the thing about moving, you can lose some things and then regain others. I'm hoping since we'll be in Milton for awhile, that I'll grow to enjoy it.
So cheers to moves, new beginnings and a brand new house to call 'home.'
